Event Photography for Target Los Angeles
This shoot was for Little and Company who was organizing the marketing of a Target-sponsored event in Los Angeles. They wanted someone with a photojournalist skillset local to Los Angeles. They also wanted a photographer who was culturally aligned with the event’s Mexican character.
They pretty much just cut me loose on the event with four assistants to gather names and get releases. It was right up my alley since it was a Mexican dance festival and it was like shooting fish in a barrel. I did not often get the opportunity to shoot culturally specific events and loved the imagery and authenticity of the event. The only branding was on the stage, but it was enough to get Target’s event sponsorship across to their audience.
I think this event was one of my favorite corporate event photography projects of all time because I had a free hand at photographing anything I wanted, so long as I kept in mind the client’s needs.
