Enhancing your Brand through Photojournalism
Bridging Photojournalism and Commercial Photography
Ed applies his photojournalistic expertise to commercial narratives, pharmaceutical projects, industrial photography, and corporate events. His approach combines an eye for authentic moments with a polished commercial aesthetic, resulting in genuine and visually striking images. He is attuned to the culture of his clients and is accustomed to working in highly structured environments like dress-black corporate events or social engagement campaigns in public settings where multiple events are happening at once.
About the Los Angeles Photojournalist.
Ed’s career began over 25 years ago as a documentary photographer and photojournalist shooting world events ranging from the first Iraq war to the LA riots for publications like Life Magazine, Time, Newsweek, US News and World Report, National Geographic, New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times.
Eventually, photojournalism became his third language (Spanish is his second), and he began using his skill set to shoot commercial narratives, pharmaceutical projects, Industrial photography, business lifestyle images, and Corporate events, albeit within a commercial framework.
His major influences were photojournalists and documentary photographers like W. Eugene Smith, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Dorthea Lang, and Sebastian Salgado, all of whom defined the profession through their stories of human drama. Photojournalism continues to frame the way Ed sees the world.

Efficient post-production and image delivery via FTP
Ed starts his photojournalism projects by understanding the scope of the event, client expectations, the time frame, and the client’s deadline.
Upon signing a work contract, he begins planning and shaping expectations so everyone is on the same page. He listens before he seeks to be understood.
He works with two cameras, uses natural lighting as his primary light source, and uses flash sparingly to fill shadows. His production skills give him an edge in solving problems and executing the client’s vision.
As a Los Angeles photojournalist, Ed works quietly to tell a story by photographing the overall environment, getting group activity shots, and then seeking authentic moments that characterize the spirit of the event. When appropriate, he will find detail shots. The result is that he has a collection of images that tell your brand’s story.
Upon request, he can deliver images on-site within minutes without downloading event pictures onto a laptop. This is useful for live social media feeds.
When we finish documenting the event, we edit and upload images to an Adobe gallery for the client to review. After the image selections are made, we do the final processing of the images and deliver via FTP. Alternatively, we can upload the whole batch of edited images.
Most commercial rates for photography are negotiated on a case-by-case basis and depend on difficulty, duration, production values, and usage of pictures. Ed’s rates are competitive with other photojournalists of equal merit. Fees for editorial assignments usually begin at $850.00; typical expenses include mileage, meals, and parking.
Corporate events are charged on an hourly basis, and business lifestyle assignments are charged on a half-day or daily basis.
